"Art washes away from the soul

the dust of everyday life."

- Pablo Picasso

I call myself The Nifty Illustrator and am a self-taught artist and animal lover.

I use manual techniques to create artworks that appeal to people of all ages. my favourite subjects are animals and imaginary creatures & worlds.

I began making small scale figurines and 3-d art in my late twenties when i was experiencing a period of severe depression and anxiety. I was struggling to engage with the world and needed to distract both my mind and my hands. at the time, i found it difficult to express myself with words so was encouraged by my therapist to use visual techniques to explore my feelings.

creative activities and animals (especially dogs) continue to play a therapeutic role in my life.

All of my artwork is made using manual techniques as I enjoy the processes involved, working with physical materials and using my hands. i sometimes make use of digital software (adobe illustrator) in order to produce vectorised illustrations and images suitable for web and print use.

i live in london and am available for commissions and collaborative or community based projects.

i’m particularly passionate about animal welfare issues, mental health awareness and empowering people of all ages through the arts and creative activities.

i especially welcome projects & collaborations linked to these areas.
